GIS Software
There are many GIS software available in both the commercial and open source space. The most well known commercially available GIS software is the ArcGIS Suite of products. These products cater to various platforms including desktop, web, mobile, and enterprise GIS.
In the free and open source space, QGIS is one of the most popular GIS desktop software. QGIS has many functions ranging from basic to advanced levels and is well suited for all levels of desktop GIS work. It also has a large user community made up of people from around the world and from many disciplines.
